In June a group of Tabor students and chaperones spent ten days in Vietnam for our fifth annual Southeast Asian Service program.

May is a beautiful time of year to visit the Hudson Valley, and I had the opportunity to take a quick tour of the area and visit four of the schools near Poughkeepsie, NY. Despite traveling only 39 miles between schools, it was amazing to see such a broad range of educational offerings.

Let’s roll the calendar back 19 years to the summer of 2000. That summer found me eagerly anticipating my freshman year in college. As I awaited my mid-August departure, I remember questions running through my mind -- “What will it be like?” “What classes will I take?” “How difficult will my professors be?” and, most importantly, “Who will be my roommate?”

What is cooler than being able to catch a fish on a custom lure, using a custom rod that you built by hand, from scratch? If you love the water, I cannot think of anything more enjoyable and rewarding.

When putting on a production of a musical, you typically need 2-3 months at the very minimum to make a decently sized show run smoothly. Now I want you to imagine doing one in six weeks!

I had the chance to visit Case Western Reserve University in late January as part of a counselor fly-in program that afforded me the opportunity to get an up close and personal look at the university and the city it calls home.

I have always had a love for marine science and, naturally, when I began discussing options for my Senior Projects this winter with my advisor, Mr. Cassista who is the Director of Marine Science at Tabor, he was more than ready to help with suggestions.

On April 14^th, the Hotchkiss school sponsored the Asian American Footsteps Conference (AAFC) for Asian, Asian-American, and mixed-heritage Asian students.

For my senior project, I created a fashion blog called “WCKD.” I came to this idea for a senior project during my freshman year during that year’s project presentations. Nathalie Cavallo ’16 had created a lifestyle and fashion blog for her project, and though I did not actually get to see her presentation, I could not wait to get a hold of her website and take a look.

I received a call recently from a junior parent, asking, “What should I be doing right now?” It was a simple question, but I knew what was behind it. How do I help? What is my role?  

About three weeks ago, seven of my classmates and three of my teachers and I went on a once in a lifetime trip.
