Tomorrow, on September 14, on our first full weekend of school, Tabor students will hit the streets to make their mark on our local community.

We will be doing two such service days this year, after the enormous success of our effort last spring (featured in the fall issue of Tabor Today). Turns out we made some new friends and they all want us back! The kids are terrific and work hard; and imagine what can be accomplished when 50 or 100 workers show up!

Here is a list of the local organizations we hope to help. If you have some thoughts about Service Learning at Tabor, or would like to know how you can get involved at Tabor, or with one of our service partners, please be in touch!

Service Partners:

  • Marion Tree Committee: Road Clean-up

  • Buzzards Bay Rowing Club: cleaning whaleboats

  • Gifts to Give: packaging orders, packaging books, cleaning toys, sorting

  • Community Boating Center

  • Dartmouth Y/Harvest Farmer

  • Sippican Lands Trust: parcel maintenance

  • Humane Society-Dartmouth

  • Wareham Recycling

  • Elizabeth Taber Library: cleaning bookshelves and reshelving books
